The Importance of Honey Bees

Bees are pollinators vital to our food chain. One third of the food we eat would not be available but for bees. like other insects, are part of a nutrition chain. The small and little insect that works so tirelessly and quietly around us certainly is one of the reasons, if not a main reason, for the possibility of human growth on earth.  Without them, the expansion of life on earth, as we know it now, would have been much different and the conditions for human development may not have existed.  The conditions we are talking about here are the appearance of the flower bearing plants and pollinators, with the bees, being the crown jewel of the pollinators.  The bees, the plants, human beings and all that developed alongside humans are all are connected with each other in a series of events over an enormous amount of time. In the writings, creation and symbolism of philosophies and religions around the world from time immemorial are references to the honey bees and the substances they collect in Nature and make in their bodies, namely honey, bee pollen, bee propolis, royal jelly and wax.  These substances, along with the bees and the beehive, have been held in high esteem through human history in every part of the world.  The references are almost always of renewal, rebirth and new beginnings.  The references are almost always about the good, positive, reinforcing things of life.  They are gifts and blessings in this planet for us. Honeybee hives are dying get in more and more dismaying numbers for over a decade currently. We tend to believe (and analysis is getting down corroborating) that the answer to the world-wide bee crisis is to scale back the environmental toxins poignant the bees, and to remodel agriculture strategies that stress the hive. These actions support the restoration of the natural immune response of the bees to the illnesses that are plaguing them.
